A two-day Training of Trainers workshop for chess coaches in KwaZulu-Natal, taking place 4–5 April 2026 in Durban.

Chess South Africa invites coaches across KwaZulu-Natal to attend the upcoming Training of Trainers (TTT) Workshop, taking place on 4–5 April 2026 in Durban. About the Training of Trainers Workshop The TTT Workshop is the foundational certification event for coaches entering the national coaching system. It is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and methodologies needed to coach chess effectively within schools, clubs, and community programmes. What to Expect Over two days, participants will engage in: • Introduction to the national coaching framework and certification pathway • Chess pedagogy — how to teach chess to beginners and intermediate players • Structured lesson planning and curriculum delivery • Assessment and evaluation methods for learners • Practical coaching sessions and peer feedback • Understanding the Learner Pathway: Pawn to Super King • Coach responsibilities, ethics, and professional conduct Who Should Attend This workshop is open to: • Aspiring coaches looking to enter the national registry • School teachers delivering chess programmes • Club administrators seeking formal certification • Experienced coaches wishing to formalise their qualifications Certification Upon successful completion, participants will receive their official CHESSA TTT certification, qualifying them for entry into the National Coaches Registry.
